Men's Group
Therapy
We exist in groups. Whether at work, on the field, or in our families and friend circles, we depend on others to survive and rely on relationships to elevate our sense of belonging and well-being. When things go well in our relationships, we feel hopeful, content, safe, and relaxed. When they don’t, we may feel anxious, lonely, insecure, and lost.
How Group Therapy works
Group therapy is built on the belief the health of our relationships determines the health of our overall life. If our relationships suffer, we’re likely to struggle elsewhere, like in our career and sense of self-worth. What causes relational challenges will vary from person-to-person, but each of us likely has certain understandings, beliefs, or patterns of relating that prevent us from experiencing more harmonious and meaningful connections. Group therapy addresses this. By providing clients a safe space to get to know themselves in a group dynamic, group therapy can help us change the ways we relate and give us confidence to express ourselves more openly and authentically.
Benefits of group therapy can include:
-
Improved communication skills
-
Increased assertiveness and conflict resolution capacities
-
Reduction in anxiety and the experience of loneliness
-
A deeper understanding of one's relational patterns
-
Enhanced ability to form lasting connections
Men's Process Group
At my practice, I offer a men’s process group. In this weekly group, members are invited to show up as they are and work on issues related relationships, authenticity, social anxiety, codependency, and other challenges associated with the male experience. The group meets Tuesday evenings in Silver Lake from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. The group fee is $75 per session. For more information, please contact me directly.
If you want to improve your relationships and how you feel about yourself in social and interpersonal settings, group therapy can be a great place to start.
